They said it couldn't be done.Who are "they"? I look at statements like the ones above and wonder why those statements aren't worded like this:
They said I would never make it.
They said it wouldn't last.
They said that if anyone could do it, you were the one.The end result if we constantly find ourselves saying the former statements instead of the latter? Maybe some of us need to find a new "they."
They said it would be hard, but I made it.
They said I could make it last if I wanted it badly enough.
(at least that's what they told me)
