Ice pellets

The weather in the Tech Center in Colorado today, according to Weather Underground, will consist of "ice pellets."  What's an ice pellet?  Ice pellets haven't started falling from the sky yet, so I don't know that I've ever seen one; I have, however, seen hail before.  Perhaps an ice pellet is what you get when it hails and the temperature is south of 30 degrees.  I'll keep you posted in case I spot an ice pellet.
