Initial reports when I saw this yesterday on 37 Signals were that the whole display was filled with real money; according to an update on the Boing Boing post, the tops of the visible stacks of bills are real, but the money underneath is fake. Regardless, there's still a fair amount of money in the display and it's an extremely innovative way to "put your money where your mouth is" (so to speak) with your product. As a side note, the Boing Boing post reports that the display is under video surveillance by the advertising company that is conveniently located directly across the street.
