Wierd GMail problem

Since yesterday afternoon I’ve been getting errors when I try to access GMail with Firefox; works fine with IE, but I hate using IE.  This sucks.

The specific error I get is:

“The file /gmail?view=page&name=js&ver=a40b66e26b1f9e33 cannot be found.  Please check the location and try again.”

Anyone having the same problems or have any suggestions?

I'm using Firefox and Gmail without problem. I would suggest clearing your browser cache, it sounds like you've got a bad URL for Gmail stuck in cache.

You also might want to check the spelling of weird in your title ;)

That worked: just went to the Tools Menu, selected Options, clicked on Privacy, and cleared just the cache.

You bring up a good point about the title being spelled wrong, I don't think I realized that Blogjet wasn't spell checking my titles.

I am having exactly the same problem. When I login to gmail it shows me just a white screen and a dialog box with the error, "The file /gmail?view=page&name=js&ver=4ff499617444ed15 cannot be found. Please check the location and try again."

I tried clearing my browser cache and it didn't help.

I'm not sure what to tell you -- clearing the browser cache on my machine solved that problem. Does it work on a different browser or is it a global problem?

I had the same problem, but clearing the cache worked, so thanks for the help.

I have had this happen again, and clearing the cache solved the problem again.

Read the second comment above from me on how to clear your cache if you are having this problem.

OK - I also fixed the same problem in the same way.

Maybe time to mail the gmail and/or firefox developers.

I've having a problem perhaps someone could help me with, please [equal smile]

While using IE 6, I am unable to forward or reply to a particular
message in my sent mail (Gmail immediately freezes), however I can
forward or reply to thi particular message in my sent mail using
Firefox (identical results trying from two different comps). Why is this? If the recipient of this message is using IE,
have they even in fact received the message, kindly please reply. Any
feedback is much appreciated!
i hope i explained it right
