Just how fever-paced is blogging?

According to this article on CNN.com, the level of blogging activity is not as widespread as some reports may have led people to believe. My favorite quote in the article:

The study was largely based on random telephone surveys of 1,555 Internet users taken from March 12 to May 20, 2003.

That makes tons of sense. You sure wouldn't want to use an online survey to survey Internet users; much better to just call them on the phone.

This kind of stuff cracks me up.
