Magnatune is a record company “that is not evil.”  Here’s the general idea:

Listen to fill songs in MP3; if you like the song, then download the album (for as little as $5) and/or buy a CD and/or license the music — no DRM.  Artists make 50% of every purchase and retain full rights to their music.

I wonder if any other record companies can summarize their business in 2 sentences.

Oh, I forgot, and this is a pretty big deal: If you lose your music, you can download it again from Magnatune for free.
